From the age of 14, Marty has been working in the family business, so the automotive industry is in his blood. He started out sweeping the floor, then quickly learned the tricks of the tire trade. After graduating from high school, he took responsibility for purchasing. In 1979, when Marty’s grandfather passed away, he became President. Since then, he has remained an integral part of management. Marty and his wife of many years have 4 kids and 13 grandchildren. In his free time, Marty enjoys contributing his efforts in support of various charities in the community.
Doug has always been the mechanical one in the family. He first started fixing bicycles as a young boy with his dad and then moved on to repairing lawnmowers for the mowing business he and Marty had. Doug is now known as our suspension guru because of his meticulous attention to detail and many years of experience. Doug’s mechanical skills combined with his commitment to provide exceptional service to our customers, makes him the ideal shop manager. Doug is married with 5 children and 13 grandchildren. When he’s not at work, Doug enjoys traveling and visiting his family in Canada, Germany & New Zealand.
Wes, like his father, Doug, has grown up working on anything mechanical. His early responsibilities were in the alignment/suspension shop. Over the past 25 years, Wes has made his way from being a technician, up to shop manager, store manager and now general manager. His vision and determination to grow the business along with his broad capabilities has yielded the assurance that Hilltop Tire service will continue for generations to come. Wes and his wife have 4 very active boys and his favorite pastime is spending time with family and participating in school events.
Daylon is the beginning of the fifth generation of family to join the Hilltop Tire team! Much like his father and grandfather, he is very mechanically inclined and a good all-around technician. Daylon values the relationships that have been formed and passed on from the previous generations and is committed to the future growth of the business. In Daylon’s spare time, he enjoys working on his truck and buying and selling vehicles.
Loren is the fourth generation continuing the family tradition of excellent customer service. As well as being store manager of our Downtown location, he took over the purchasing responsibilities from his father, Marty, and also manages all marketing aspects of the business. His personal integrity combined with his commitment to honesty has greatly contributed in making Hilltop Tire Service a trusted name in the area. Loren is married with 4 school age children and enjoys spending his free time with them.
Since Chris joined our team, he has brought a wealth of knowledge with over 30 years of experience in the tire and automotive industry. As Fleet Account Manager, Chris goes above and beyond for customers, building trust and rapport with each client. His positivity and passion for his job is evident in the company’s sales growth. Chris and his wife have 2 daughters and 1 grandson. In his free time, Chris enjoys restoring classic cars and golfing.
Dan is ASE trained with over 35 years of experience in the auto repair industry. He simply knows everything there is to know about cars! Customers love to see Dan working on their vehicle because they know the level of care he takes and that he can fix just about anything. His vast knowledge of the automotive industry and his attention to detail make him a great asset at the downtown store. Dan enjoys being a master wood craftsman in his free time and has created some beautiful pieces of furniture.
David began his career at Hilltop Tire Service over 7 years ago. He is a hardworking and dependable tire technician at the Johnston store and is always striving to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations. His expertise in the automotive industry is evident in the way he helps out and takes on any job he is given. David continues to serve our country as a Marine Veteran for the Iowa Army National Guard. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and sports.
Ed is an automotive repair expert with over 30 years of experience. He doesn’t shy away when called upon to perform a tough diagnostic task and has the ability to do anything from fix a flat tire to swap an engine. Ed enjoys working on old cars in his spare time, so when it comes to vehicles, he knows his stuff! He has 4 children and is the proud grandpa of 8 grandchildren.
Jason is the friendly face you see when you visit our Downtown location. As Service Advisor, he brings with him a caring, cheerful attitude and is passionate about making every person’s visit here a positive one. With over 20 years of experience in the automotive repair business, he is a pro and you can count on him to explain your vehicles service. When he’s not at work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family of 4 lively children and 3 dogs.
Jeff is a cheerful, energetic Service Advisor you see at the Hubbell Store. He has many years of experience in the automotive repair industry. Jeff’s knowledge combined with his passion for exceptional customer service makes him a great fit for the job. He is extremely good at ensuring each estimate and invoice is completely accurate and is there to help if you have any questions. Jeff is married with 2 beautiful daughters. He enjoys being a dad and cooking in his free time.
Joe is our CFO and Office Manager at the Hubbell Location. He is an all-around key player, keeping the office flowing efficiently and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty working in the shop or just helping out where he can. He is very thorough and ensures timely and accurate accounting of all our transactions and is always available to help with any billing or payment questions you have. Joe has 2 lively children whom he enjoys spending his free time with.
John is the friendly and energetic Service Writer and Specialty Tire Manager at our Hubbell store. He has over 45 years of experience in the tire and automotive industry and is known around town as the ‘go to’ guy for lawn and garden, ATV and specialty tires and wheels. His knowledge of these products and his passion for excellent customer service makes him a key player on the team. John has 4 children, 11 grandchildren and a small dog. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking and golfing.
Manuel a.k.a. Manny, has worked at the Hubbell location for over 15 years and is a renowned front-end specialist in the Des Moines metro. He usually has a week or two of appointments scheduled due to the high demand for his expertise and quality of work. He understands all aspects of suspension – lowering, lifting, and vintage cars. Manny is married with 3 energetic children. When he’s not helping us here, he enjoys baseball and riding and training horses.
Michael has been in the automotive repair industry most of his life. He is very meticulous and patient, going the extra mile to make sure things are fixed properly. Michael knows cars and he also knows what it takes to keep vehicles operating safe and worry free. You can visit Michael at our Downtown store. He has a boxer dog named Mia and is a Cubs, Bears & Hawkeyes fan. He enjoys golfing in his spare time.
Rodney is an energetic and skilled technician at our Johnston location. His positive attitude, honesty, and eager-to-learn work ethic was evident from his first day on the job. Rodney is very intelligent and not only can work the latest equipment but is able to understand it as well. Rodney is happily married with one sweet daughter. He enjoys spending time with his family in his spare time.
Shawn is a hardworking, dedicated technician at the Johnston store specializing in engine diagnostics and suspension. He brings the team over 25 years of experience in the automotive repair industry. Shawn takes his time, and is very thorough, so you know the job is done right the first time. What he enjoys most about his job is the great team of guys he is part of that go out of their way every day for each other and our valued customers. He comes from a large family and loves gardening, cooking, barbequing and enjoying the outdoors in his free time.
Shawn has over 10 years of experience working on and around cars. He is skilled in many automotive repair areas including; brakes, oil changes, starters and alternators, etc. making him a vital part of our trusted services at our Hubbell location. He is the “go-to” guy in the shop if one of the mechanics needs an extra hand on a tough job. In his free time, Shawn enjoys working on cars and playing video games.
With over 35 years of experience in the automotive repair industry, Tom is an expert on cars. He is Shop Foreman and Service Advisor at the Hubbell Store. Tom’s automotive knowledge along with his attention to detail makes him exceptionally good at ensuring the workflow is completed in a timely manner and in the most efficient way. Tom is married with 7 children and 14 grandchildren. When away from work, he enjoys working in his large orchard.
Meet Tom, or better known as “Mot”. Mot is a people-person and problem solver so his role as Service Advisor at the Johnston store is a perfect blend of both. He has over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, making him a pro at understanding customers’ needs and coming up with the best solution for them. In his free time, Mot enjoys traveling, day trading and mushroom hunting.
Personable and energetic, Iowa native, Trevr DeBoer is a great fit for his job as Service Advisor at the Hubbell location. Since Trevr joined the Hilltop Tire team in 2022, he has brought customer satisfaction to many new and existing customers. Trevr’s passion for building strong customer relationships combined with his small town, down-to-earth personality, will have you feeling like part of the Hilltop Tire family in no time! He loves working on cars, so he is always eager to help in the shop when he’s needed as well. When not building relationships at work, Trevr enjoys camping in the great outdoors and wrenching on cars.
Tylor is a tire and lube technician at the Hubbell location. He is hardworking, dependable, and trustworthy – traits we admire dearly. We are very happy to have him on our team because he is passionate about his job and always striving to keep happy customers! Tylor enjoys spending time with his family and going to the shooting range in his free time.
