10 Super Cool Ideas to recycle old Tires

Did you know that approximately 290 million tires are thrown out every year? Of those discarded tires, approximately 233 million tires are recycled in some way. Shredded tires can be made into welcome mats, playground surfaces, hot-melt asphalt, bark mulch and more! Wondering what you can do with your old tires? With a little bit of paint and imagination you can get pretty creative! Here are some great ideas:

• 1. Fill a large tractor tire with sand and make a sandbox for kids.
• 2. Hang a tire from a rope and make a tire swing.
• 3. Stack a few tires on top of each other, fasten them together, fill with dirt and you have yourself a garden planter.
• 4. Use a bicycle tire as a base for a wreath
• 5. Line an old tire with soft fabric to make a dog bed
• 6. Stack up a couple of tires, fasten together and put a piece of glass on top for a patio table.
• 7. Use old tires to create an outdoor stairway.
• 8. Create an obstacle course in your back yard.
• 9. Nail them to a tree to make a ladder/steps up to a tree house
